And maybe the rolling of the eyes is a bit dramatic but what they really want to learn is the exact formula to not being affected by stressful events.
They want to know how to think on purpose, when to catch default thinking, and the exact order in which to apply the model.
But the irony is that stress is a feeling too.
It’s not the email, it’s not the co-worker, and it’s the economy.
Stress is an inside feeling that we feel because of our brain and the thoughts inside of them.
So if we’re already feeling a feeling then, how do we release the feeling and get to thought work?

Most Stressed Out Successes have every intention to shut down by 8pm, but find themselves hearing or seeing the notification and before they know it they’re responding to the email on their phone.
What’s worse is they start feeling guilty for not being more present with their loved ones or if they’re single, they start resenting their work because all of their free time is consumed with thoughts about work!

I’ve heard from countless Stressed Out Successes that once they get that certification they can finally stress less.

It’s natural for our brain to think in worst case scenarios. It’s a protective mechanism that has helped us for thousands of years.
Yet, when we go over the same negative thoughts over and over again it starts to wear on us mentally, emotionally, and even physically.
We start to lose sleep, we can’t make decisions easily, and we even start to lose our patience with the people we love the most.
